Games Team

Everybody in our development team is first and foremost, a Game Maker and you will be no different. You will be working in small teams to rapidly design, prototype, and iterate game ideas from yourself and the team, so although a master of your discipline, you will still have a huge voice when it comes to conceiving and designing Games at Bandai Namco Mobile.

Principal Game Data Scientist

We are seeking a Game Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in our games team, positioned between data analysis, game development, and strategic planning. This role is perfect for someone who excels in navigating the complexities of gaming data, leveraging insights to guide both our business strategy and game design, while closely collaborating with technology teams.

In the role, you will be responsible for developing data pipelines, tools, and reports early in the project lifecycle to share insights in player behavior with the team. Your role will require an exploration of complex datasets that depict player behavior. From these datasets, you will extract actionable insights that address strategic and operational challenges. The outcomes of your analyses will be key in shaping game features, influencing future product roadmaps, and formulating strategies aimed at improving player retention and monetization. Your insights will hold a crucial position in influencing both creative and strategic decisions in the studio.

 Requirements

  • Proven analytical work experience, preferably in Mobile Gaming
  • BSc degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, science, economics, or
    other quantitative fields
  • Knowledge of statistical tools and models
  • Experience using SQL querying large, complex data sets
  • Analytical and visualisation skills
  • Experience with A/B Testing, sample size estimation and result presentation
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary development teams
  • Ability to turn complex concepts into actionable business recommendations
  • Understanding of players’ behavior, being proactive, curious and with a product-oriented mindset

Bonus

  • Experience with dbt, Snowflake, AWS. As well as Business Intelligence Tools (QuickSight, Tableau etc.)
  • Experience understanding scalability of DWH and cloud cost optimisation
  • Experience in Data Engineering
